Biniam Egu Bedasso (PhD)

Biniam Egu Bedasso is a development economist with special focus on political economy and institutional economics. Currently, Biniam works on issues of structural transformation, human capital development and governance in Ethiopia and on the African continent. He leads EDRI’s program on Structural Transformation and Industrial Policy (STIP). He has formerly held research positions in various institutions including the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and Economic Research Southern Africa (ERSA). Biniam was a Robert S. McNamara fellow of the World Bank in 2012. His scholarly works have appeared in international peer-reviewed journals such as Economics & Politics and the Journal of Development Studies. Biniam holds a PhD in Public Policy from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
